Although a lot of players will now have access to the Singularity skin, that doesn’t mean the Fortbytes system is finished with just yet — we still have unlockable styles for the skin to work towards. Fortbyte #28: Solve The Pattern Match Puzzle Outside A Desert Junkyard is another step on the way to full Fortbyte completion.
Just in case you’ve been turned into a robot for the past ten weeks and had to get a spell to lift the curse, the Fortbytes system is a series of daily challenges from Epic that require players to hunt down little floating computer chips across the island. A new one unlocks every day at 2PM BST with cosmetic rewards given for every five that players collect. You also discover more about the mysterious mural that Bunker Jonesy is painting.
Here’s everything you need to know to solve Fortbyte #28: Solve The Pattern Match Puzzle Outside A Desert Junkyard
Fortbtye #28 Map
Your first instinct might be Junk Junction, but that’s not out in the desert. Instead, venture over to the “Mini-Junk” out in the desert at I9 on the Fortnite map and find the puzzle on the wall of a hut.
Fortbye #28 Puzzle Guide
The pattern match puzzle is very tricky at this time of writing, just because of how many people are crowding around to get it done, so you may want to wait a few hours first. Other players can quickly ruin your pattern matching.
To start the puzzle, you must pull the lever. Colored lights will then start to illuminate in a pattern. You have to follow that pattern after it’s done by hitting them with your pickaxe or shooting them. One wrong swipe and you will have to start over.
You have to complete four of these patterns in a row to unlock Fortbyte #28, which is directly right to the puzzle itself. The easiest thing to remember is that it’s the same pattern each time with just one extra color at the end of it.
Another thing worth bearing in mind: the pattern changes each time someone pulls a lever, so any other guides that say there is a single pattern are incorrect.
Fortbyte #28 Video Guide
I always enjoy when Epic decide to release a slightly different Fortbyte, and this one also looks it might be the most challenging as only one player can complete it at a time.
As already mentioned, if you’re struggling with this Fortbyte, it might be worth waiting until things quieten down. I had a few absolute no-lifes trying to kill me when I did this, so bear that in mind.
