We’re into Week 8 of Fortnite Season 9 and the Fortbyte system continues to be a very solid addition to seasonal content. The Friday of Week 8 delivers us Fortbyte #62: Accessible With The Stratus Outfit Within An Abandoned Mansion.
The Fortbyte system is a series of challenges that span the entirety of Season 9. Everyday at 2pm BST a clue driven challenge is released asking you to track down a Fortbyte. For each of the Fortbytes you will also be granted cosmetic rewards similar to Battle Pass cosmetic rewards. The image currently presents a still image of Bunker Jonesy crawling on the bunker’s wall.
This guide focuses on Fortbyte #62: Accessible With The Stratus Outfit Within An Abandoned Mansion, which as predicted is another Battle Pass gated Fortbyte.
Fortbyte #62: Stratus Outfit
The Stratus outfit is accessed by getting to tier 71 of the Battle Pass. Once you have unlocked it you’ll need to equip it to complete the Fortbyte. If you don’t have it equipped, the Fortbyte won’t be accessible. This is the highest of any Battle Pass gated Fortbyte by a significant margin, so expect the next one to be a bit of a lower requirement (low to mid 60’s).

The abandoned mansion mentioned in the clue is the old ‘superhero’ (Xavier’s mansion rip-off) from Season 4. It’s located on the far eastern side of the map south of Lonely Lodge on the intersection of J5 and J6 on the main map’s grid.

The Fortbyte is on the mansion’s ground floor. If you enter through the ‘main entrance’ (west facing wall from the driveway), you’ll see the Fortbyte in plain sight slightly to your right. As long as you have the Stratus outfit equipped you’ll be able to interact with the Fortbyte.

As we’re approaching the final three weeks of Season 9 and we’re up to tier 71 progress wise, we’d expect one or two more Battle Pass gated Fortbytes to have a lower requirement than this. After that, fully expect the tier obligation to jump as there are quite a few leaked Fortbytes that require tier 90 or above to complete.
