Fortnite Season 9 Fortbyte #31: Found At A Meteor Crater Overlook

All you need to know.

Fortbyte 31

We’re approaching our fourth week of Season 9 and the Fortbyte system remains in the same state it did since its inception. It aims to encourage daily participation by offering challenges that tend to be a little more complicated and knowledge reliant than the weekly offerings. More specifically, the Fortbyte system is an interesting blend of regular weekly challenges mixed with a ‘collectibles’ style scavenger hunt. There are 100 Fortbytes in total and one is released every 24 hours at 2PM BST. Each Fortbyte has instructions on where and how you can find it, but vary in difficulty. The ultimate reward for collecting all 100 is yet to be discovered, other that it revealing an image tile by tile, which will ‘reveal the secrets’ behind the Season 9 changes.

This article focuses on Fortbyte #31, which following on from Fortbyte #50 is another Fortbyte reliant on older map knowledge.

Fortbyte #31 Found At A Meteor Crater Overlook Location

Metero Crater OVerlook

‘Meteor crater overlook’ is Epic’s attempt at making a challenge less straightforward by obfuscating the locations real name. The meteor crater in question is Dusty Divot, the most central location (and now, one of the oldest) on the map. Dusty Divot lies on the intersection of F5, F6, G5 and G6 on the main map’s grid. The ‘overlook’ in question is the dilapidated warehouses and cafe to the crater’s north, which can be found at F5 on the main map’s grid.

Once you’ve made your way to the warehouses, you’ll want to head to the top floor (not the roof) of the southernmost warehouse (the warehouse closest to – and hanging over – the edge of the crater). You’ll find Fortbyte #31 in the centre of this catwalk, complete with a little ‘sightseeing sign’. Simply interact with it to collect your daily Fortbyte.

Fortbyte #31 Found At A Meteor Crater Overlook Video Guide

As mentioned previously, Fortbyte #31 functions – basically – identically to Fortbyte #50 (the previous Fortbyte) in challenge style. Relying on a vague description of an area rather than a direct name, requiring map knowledge (often of older areas) to complete in a timely manner.

We have an article dedicated to the Fortbyte system as well links to guides concerning each one where applicable. It is currently in the process of being slowly updated as more information comes out.
