Season 9’s Fortbyte system holds strong, releasing a single challenge each day, often more involved than a typical weekly challenge that encourage players to login regularly (and see their Epic’s offerings of course). More specifically, the Fortbyte system is an interesting blend of regular weekly challenges mixed with a ‘collectibles’ style scavenger hunt.
There are 100 Fortbytes in total and one is released every 24 hours. Each Fortbyte has instructions on where and how you can find it, but some are a bit more difficult to track down that others. The ultimate reward for collecting all 100 is yet to be discovered, other that it revealing an image tile by tile.
This guide focuses on Fortbyte #50: Accessible At Night Time Inside Mountain Top Castle Ruins, which can be a little tricky if your map knowledge isn’t up to snuff.
Fortbyte #50 (Accessible At Night Time Inside Mountain Top Castle Ruins) Location
The castle ruins in question are atop a mountain directly east of Haunted Hills (overlooking Haunted Hills in particular) and south of Junk Junction. You’ll find the mountain and castle at B2 on the main map’s grid.
There once was a relatively grand castle that overlooked Haunted Hills menacingly, now it is a dilapidated ruin. On the very western side of these ruins, on the ground floor (the same floor as the throne room) is a set of archways that leads into a rectangular room. You’ll find the Fortbyte buried in a corner here. It needs to be night time for you to activate this Fortbyte, which is determined by the game you’re in. When you load into a new match, it’ll be either day time or night time, but can also occasionally turn into night time. You can only pick up this Fortbyte in a game where it is night time.*
*EDITOR’S NOTE: Team Rumble also introduces night time a lot quicker than regular Fortnite.
Fortbyte #50: Accessible At Night Time Inside Mountain Top Castle Ruins Video Guide
Fortbyte #50 isn’t that complicated overall, with the day time, night time spin on the challenge very easily accounted for. However, if your map knowledge is lacking, or just not up to date, it might be easy to miss the castle ruin that have overlooked Haunted Hills for many seasons now.
