Season 9 saw the introduction of a rather interesting system called ‘Fortbytes’. The Fortbyte system is an interesting blend of regular weekly challenges mixed with a ‘collectibles’ style scavenger hunt. There are 100 Fortbytes in total and one is released every 24 hours. Each Fortbyte has instructions on where and how you can find it, but some are a bit more difficult to track down that others. This guide focuses on Fortbyte #13, which asks you to decipher the hidden location on loading screen #2. As the location for the Fortbyte has already been discovered, we’ll forego pouring over the loading screen image.
Fortbyte #13 (Found At A Location Hidden Loading Screen #2) Location
Fortbyte #13 can be located just south of Paradise Palms, circled in red. If you follow the highway south out of Paradise Palms and around the bend, you’ll find a tourist attraction with three metal dinosaurs perched on the sides of the highway. There is a building on the south side of the highway near the purple Brontosaurus and green T-rex, behind this building is a green portable toilet.

Break this toilet to reveal Fortbyte #13. There are no extra conditions that will prevent you from interacting with the Fortbyte, so simply hold the button to collect it. More interestingly however, the less straightforward nature of this challenge indicates Epic might be willing to reintroduce the more complicated and interesting challenges via the Fortbyte system. It also points towards having specific items/rewards unlocked to complete some of these Fortbyte challenges. So keep that in the back of your mind while we progress forward through the season.
