Fortbytes are a new system introduced in Season 9 that are designed to provide more seasonal content (and possibly encourage the purchasing of Battle Pass tiers). The Fortbyte system is an interesting blend of regular weekly challenges mixed with a ‘collectibles’ style scavenger hunt. There are 100 Fortbytes in total and one is released every 24 hours. Each Fortbyte has instructions on where and how you can find it, but some are a bit more difficult to track down that others.
This guide is aimed at helping players obtain Fortbyte #82 northwest of the Block. This is a rather interesting challenge requires multiple people to complete.
Fortbyte #82 (Accessible By Solving The Pressure Plate Puzzle NW Of The Block) Location
You can find the pressure plate puzzle northwest of the block and directly east of Junk Junction, circled in red on the above image. There will be a tiny forest at D1, hidden within this forest is a series of pressure plates along with the transparent Fortbyte.
As you may have figured, finding the Fortbyte isn’t the difficult part, turning the Fortbyte opaque and accessible is.
As mentioned earlier, you’ll need three friends (or very cooperative enemies) to finish this, one for each pressure plate. Constant pressure has to be placed on the plate for the Fortbyte to remain accessible, so there is no cheating by running from plate to plate and weight from vehicles do not count, only weight from a player. Naturally, needing four people in total to collect the Fortbyte means it lends itself to squad play as enemies might not be so kind as to return the favour if you help them.
An interesting take on the daily Fortbyte challenges, essentially requiring cooperation from players to complete. We should expect to see more squad/duo style exclusive challenges in the future.
We have a masterlist of all the Fortbytes, with accompanying guides for those that require a bit more effort to locate.
