The Fortbyte system is Epic’s newest addition to the seasonal offerings, providing daily incentives to log in and play. As a system, it is an interesting blend of regular weekly challenges mixed with a ‘collectibles’ style scavenger hunt.
There are 100 Fortbytes in total and one is released every 24 hours. Each Fortbyte has instructions on where and how you can find it, but some are a bit more difficult to track down that others. This guide is focused on tracking down Fortbyte #17, hidden inside a giant wooden fish building.
Fortbyte #17 (Found Inside A Wooden Fish Building) Location
The wooden fish building is a new addition to Season 9, but not a particularly incognito one. In the jungle biome, northeast of Lazy Lagoon is a set of four hot springs. In the southwesternmost hot spring is a large wooden fish. G2 on the main map’s grid.

The Fortbyte in question resides within this wooden building. Fortbyte #17 will be located in the tail of the wooden fish. You can simply edit it or break it to access the Fortbyte. That’s all there is to this Fortbyte; very simple and straightforward.
