As Fortnite Season 9 begins to wind down, the Fortbyte system continues to deliver small nuggets of content, keeping interest in Season 9 higher than it would otherwise be so late into the game. Today’s Fortbyte (Monday of Week 8) presents us with Fortbyte #63: Found Somewhere Between Lucky Landing And Fatal Fields.
The Fortbyte system is a series of challenges that span the entirety of Season 9. Everyday at 2pm BST, a clue driven treasure hunt challenge is released, asking you to track down and collect said Fortbyte. There are 100 Fortbytes in total and collecting them lavishes you with cosmetic rewards not unlike the Battle Pass. Additionally, each Fortbyte collected reveals a tile on a mosaic image featuring Bunker Jonesy scrawling on a bunker wall.
This article focuses on Fortbyte #63: Found Somewhere Between Lucky Landing And Fatal Fields. This is one of the few non progression Fortbyte challenges left for Season 9.
Fortnite Season 9 Fortbyte #63 Map
As the challenge describes, you’ll find it between Fatal Fields (F8, F9, G8 and G9 on the main map’s grid) and Lucky Landing (F10 on the main map’s grid). As there is no grid spaces between these two locations the Fortbyte should be located somewhere on F9 and G9 on the main map’s grid.

The only worthwhile location of note here is a small gas station in a valley on the road main road that leads into and out of Lucky Landing. This gas station is located at F9 on the main map’s grid. The Fortbyte itself will be located outside between the two gas pumps. Lucky Landing is closer, so landing there and picking up a weapon before heading over might be best as there is a decent likelihood someone will have a gun from being the first to arrive at the gas station, collecting their free kills. Either way, collect the Fortbyte and you’re done.

As mentioned earlier, this is one of the few Fortbytes left that does not require progression with the Battle Pass or the Fortbyte system to complete. However, considering the jump between Friday and Saturday’s Fortbytes, it is safe to say that keeping up to date with your dailies is of tantamount importance. That is, if you’re aiming for 100% completion.
This Fortbyte follows on from Sunday’s Fortbyte #97 and Fortbyte #67, both of which were pretty unique, but a huge jump in required Battle Pass progression.
