We’re making our way through the second half of Fortnite Season 9 and over halfway through the release schedule of Fortbytes. Monday of Week 6 is Fortbyte #58: Accessible By Using The Sad Trombone Emote At The North End Of Snobby Shores.
For those unfamiliar with the Fortbyte system, it is Season 9’s (arguably) biggest and most unique change. Everyday at 2pm BST a challenge is released in the same vein as the old treasure hunt challenges that were very popular in the earlier seasons of Fortnite. There are 100 Fortbytes in total and unlocking them provides players with a slew of unique cosmetic rewards. Each individual Fortbyte you unlock also reveals a single tile from a large mosaic image that pictures Bunker Jonesy up to something.
This guide focuses on Fortnite Season 9, Fortbyte# 58: Accessible By Using The Sad Trombone Emote At The North End Of Snobby Shores, which is a relatively simple Fortbyte to find, the trick is of course, having a high enough Battle Pass tier to complete it.
Fortbyte #58: Sad Trombone
You will require the emote ‘Sad Trombone’ to collect Fortbyte #58. The Sad Trombone emote is located at tier 46 on the Battle Pass reward scheme. This means you have to have both the Battle Pass and be reasonably up to date in the season to finish this Fortbyte off.
Fortnite Season 9 Fortbyte #58 Map
Easy enough instructions. Head to Snobby Shores, which is located on the western edge of the map, south of Haunted Hills, north of Frosty Flights and east of Neo Tilted. It occupies A5 on the main map’s grid.
The Fortbyte itself is located on the northern end of Snobby Shores. Specifically, this means the northernmost house in the row of houses here. This particular house is the only one not neatly packed inside the A5 grid, but on the border of A4 and A5 on the main map’s grid. If you follow the road leading into this house, you’ll see the Fortbyte sitting at the driveway gates to the house, sitting in plain sight. Simply use the Sad Trombone emote (tier 46 on the Battle Pass) and wait for it to become accessible, interact with it and you’re done.
Fortbyte #58 Video Guide
Tracking down and collecting this Fortbyte is relatively simply, instead relying almost exclusively on a players willingness to keep up with their Battle Pass. Or more cynically, pay for tiers. Tier 46 is a decent way in, but it isn’t the deepest we’ve seen yet, so expect one beyond the tier 50 mark soon.
This Fortbyte follows on from Sunday’s Fortbyte #30 and Saturday’s Fortbyte #14, which were both rather straightforward.
