Fortnite Season 9’s Fortbyte system continues on strong, keeping players busy not only chasing after Fortbytes, but also encouraging players to stay up to date with their Battle Pass. Today’s Fortbyte (Monday of Week 7) presents us with Fortbyte #43: Accessible By Wearing The Nana Cape Back Blind Inside A Banana Stand.
For those just jumping into Season 9, or Fortnite in general, the Fortbyte system is a set of challenges that span throughout the entirety of Season 9. Everyday at 2pm BST, a Fortbyte is released and it usually takes the form of a treasure hunt style challenge that were prolific in the very early seasons of Fortnite. Collecting Fortbytes reward players with cosmetic rewards and each individual Fortbyte collected reveals a tile on a mosaic image. This image currently features Bunker Jonesy painting over a wall with pink and black paint.
This article focuses on Fortbyte #43: Accessible By Wearing The Nana Cape Back Blind Inside A Banana Stand, which after the small break from progress orientated challenges over the weekend, make their return.
Fortbyte #43: Nana Cape Back Bling
The Nana Cape requires you collect 40 Fortbytes in total before you’ll receive it as a reward. Once you unlock it, you can find it in your locker under the ‘Back Bling’ tab. You need to equip it to complete this challenge, so make sure you do that.
This time, the return of a progress based Fortbyte is a bit different. Instead of a direct reliance on Season 9 Battle Pass progress, we have an indirect reliance, by expecting progress on the Fortbyte system.

The banana stand is the same location that was used for Fortbyte #51. You’ll find this banana stand at Neo Tilted, located on the intersection of D5 and D6 on the main map’s grid.

Once you’re in Neo Tilted, there will be a small building (compared to the rest of Neo Tilted anyway) on the western end of Tilted near the radio tower that was once ‘Big Ben’. If you follow the main road leading east into Neo Tilted you’ll see the building on your left. Simply enter this building and look to your left, you’ll see a counter and kitchen area. The Fortbyte is sitting in plain sight next to a futuristic looking fridge. As long as you have the Nana cape equipped, you’ll be granted access to the Fortbyte after a second of standing next to it.

Epic has been showing us an intense fondness for progress gated Fortbytes in recent history and it was only a matter of time before they put a new spin on it. Asking us to have Fortbyte progression to unlock more Fortbytes is certainly a new layer of hoops to jump through.
Currently a lot of the Fortbytes require Battle Pass progress to collect, which means you need to grind up your challenges to get access to more Fortbytes, so that you can unlock the cape, to unlock this particular Fortbyte, which further solidifies Epic’s intent to keep you playing as much as possible via ‘reward schemes’. Ultimately, the harder it is to keep up, the more the urge to ‘skip’ via paying will set in, but at least it broke up the pattern somewhat.
This Fortbyte follows on from Sunday’s Fortbyte #20 and Saturday’s Fortbyte #98, both of which gave us a reprieve from grinding out our Battle Pass.
