Sony: Death Stranding Still Coming To PS4

Still a stranded release date, though.

With such a long wait since its reveal and a release date hard to come by, you could be forgiven for thinking that Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding may slip into the next generation and miss the PlayStation 4 entirely. That’s not the case, as revealed by Sony.

During an interview with Sony’s Mark Cerny to discuss the PlayStation 5, Wired’s Peter Rubin quizzed Cerny about Death Stranding’s status, to which a spokesperson reiterated “that the game would be released for PS4”. However, and this is an interesting note, Cerny’s “pregnant pause” (a very interesting phrase indeed) made Rubin believe that it may be a cross-generational release and come to PS4 and PS5.

Interestingly, Hideo Kojima had to reiterate back in 2017 that Death Stranding would definitely arrive on PlayStation 4. Kojima recently also said that the game had received a “slight delay”.

Norman Reedus Death Stranding

Death Stranding is quite long in the tooth at this point with just the faintest of glimpses at its gameplay available.

Revealed as part of Sony’s now legendary E3 2016 conference, Death Stranding sees Norman Reedus as Sam: a man travelling a lonely world an–that’s about all we know without diving down deep into the well of speculation. It will also have an open world, multiplayer functionality, run on Horizon’s Decima engine, and feature plenty of famous faces, including Lea Seydoux and Mads Mikkelsen.

Are you still intrigued by Death Stranding, or are you just going with the flow like me until the madness is eventually out?
