Marvel’s Avengers Betas Begin This August With PS4 Pre-Order Betas Up First

PS4 players get to play ahead of everyone else.

If you’ve been waiting to play Marvel’s Avengers without having to queue up for an inordinate amount of time at a convention, your chance will come this August with the reveal of three separate beta dates, as confirmed by IGN.

From August 7th, a beta for those who have pre-ordered the game on PS4 will take place. Hold on, things are about to get complicated.

From August 14th, there will PC and Xbox pre-order betas alongside an open beta for PlayStation 4.

From August 21st, there will be an open beta for everyone, meaning that it will be time for Stadia players to step up to the plate with everyone else. Here’s hoping it’s not A-Day. Creative Director Shaun Escayg has mentioned that the beta will be a fairly comprehensive look at what to expect from the game.

To accompany this news, there will also be a second War Table presentation hosted by developers Crystal Dynamics to dive deeper into the game on July 29th at 10 a.m. PT. The previous one wasn’t the greatest display of the game, which has received some mixed responses to what’s been shown online so far.

It’s also odd to have to pre-order to access something that should be used to help the developers out ahead of a full launch, but pre-order betas are all the rage these days.

Marvel’s Avengers releases September 4th, 2020 for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Stadia. It will also be a launch title for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X for free for owners of the last-gen versions.
