Best PS4 Game Deals From The ‘Only On PlayStation’ PlayStation Store Sale

Uncharted 4

Like the setting of the sun, another sale has landed on PlayStation Store for you to dive into and spend some money on that you really shouldn’t. Coming quickly off the back of a recent sale that saw some deep savings on some big hitters, the ‘Only On PlayStation’ sale celebrates some of the best PS4 exclusives at reduced rates.

Of course we’ve seen some of these deals before, though. The PlayStation Store sales are always cyclical in their nature, regularly offering the same games at similar prices. I’m beginning to think Uncharted 4 might have been on offer for 90% of the time since its release.

Still, there are plenty of solid deals here if you’re yet to pick some of the console’s biggest hitters. The following prices are listed in GBP and are available from today until October 18th at midnight.

The Last of Us Remastered – £15.99

The Last of Us movie

Ever since the reveal for The Last of Us 2, it’s been difficult to get ahold of the shinier comprehensive version of the PS3’s best game for a fair price. £15.99 for the base game and its Left Behind DLC isn’t too bad a price at all, so refresh your memory about all of the unending misery or dive into one of the most absorbing games ever made while on the relative cheap. See if you can top my casting for a TLOU movie while you’re there, too.

Uncharted 4 – £15.99

The most cinematic game of its generation is available for slightly more than the price of a cinema ticket – not bad when you consider that you don’t have to deal with overpriced popcorn and teenagers on their phones. Nathan Drake’s swansong doesn’t do a great deal to change the patented formula, but Uncharted 4 is still a breathless and immersive treasure hunt all over the world with some great performances to boot. You can also get the remastered PS3 collection for the same price.

Bloodborne – £15.99

Bloodborne

As arguably FromSoftware’s most universally beloved game, it should be no surprise that Bloodborne is still going for a decent price over two years after its release. With a bigger emphasis on attacking and speed than its Souls cousins, Bloodborne is an atmospheric and relentlessly grim death simulator that will have you cursing and stroking the screen with love in equal measures. You can also pick up the complete edition for just a few quid extra.

The Last Guardian – £14.99

As antiquated and rusty as some of its mechanics may be, the heart of The Last Guardian means it’s hard to ignore. The oft-delayed (and at one time seemingly deceased) game from Team Ico was originally meant to land on PS3 and you can kind of tell at some points, but if you can get Trico to co-operate with you and appreciate the bond at the center of The Last Guardian, it’s a treat.

Nioh – £19.99

If we’re splitting hairs, Nioh won’t be found only on PlayStation for much longer with the announcement of its PC port. Still, this Souls-like venture of masochism is well worth seeking out all the same, especially at one of the better prices I’ve come across since launch. While comparisons to the Souls games are inevitable, Nioh does more than enough with its setting and mechanic quirks to make it worth seeking out. Just don’t blame me when the boss cheeses you to the point of self-combustion.

Journey – £3.99

If you’re yet to experience Thatgamecompany’s seminal Journey, pick it up for less than a sandwich in a fancy part of London as soon as you can. It’s light on the gameplay, but for one reason or another, it totally changed me as a person. I don’t know why and I don’t know how, but surveying gorgeous vistas and admiring its beautiful soundtrack helped me to see life differently. Cheaper than therapy, that’s for sure.

Gravity Rush 2 – £15.99

The sequel to a cult classic was always going to struggle to land an audience in the mainstream, and Gravity Rush 2 sadly seems to have been forgotten about in a 2017 awash with amazing games. Still, its gravity-bending mechanics are utterly addictive and its characters are as quirky as anything you’re likely to come across, so if you’re in the mood for some Japanese weirdness, you can’t go wrong.

WipEout Omega Collection – £15.99/£12.99 w/PS plus

Probably the best deal of the bunch, the relatively recently released WipEout Omega Collection is available at a very attractive price, especially if you’re hankering for some throwback racing. It may be a repolish of some older WipeOut games, but the Omega Collection will have you thinking back to a simpler time and crying out in anguish when you get absolutely slaughtered by its steep learning curve once again.

The Order: 1886 – £11.99/£8.49 w/PS PLus

The Order: 1886

The biggest complaint levied against The Order: 1886 was that it felt more like a movie than a game. Why not find out for yourself for about the same price as watching superheroes punch stuff for two hours? It’s very brief and slightly slack in the gameplay department, but The Order: 1886 is the most underrated PS4 exclusive that Sony has in its arsenal. Just try not to be annoyed by its awful, awful bosses and you should find something to enjoy.

Honourable Mentions

Until Dawn

Ratchet & Clank: £14.99/£11.99 w/PS Plus – it’s been a lot cheaper in other sales, but it might still be worth a look.
Until Dawn: £11.99 – recently free on PS Plus, Until Dawn is at a fair price for anyone who missed out.
Knack: £3.99 – you know you want it.
LittleBigPlanet 3: £3.99 – free on PS Plus before, but that price is pretty good.
Here They Lie: £7.99 – suffered some atrocious reviews, but you may as well flesh out your VR library with some cheap horror thrills.
Weeping Doll: £3.29 – oh man, this looks bad. Maybe buy it for a dare?
