THQ Nordic Announces Darksiders Genesis

Finally, we can play as Strife.

Darksiders

In the second of THQ Nordic’s big pre-E3 announcements, with the first being the existence of a SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom remake, the publishers have announced the next instalment of the Darksiders series. It’s called Darksiders Genesis, and it’ll finally let control the fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse, Strife. Check out the trailer below.

Continuing the series’ run of switching up the gameplay styles with each passing game, Genesis is a top-down action RPG spin-off in a similar vein to the likes of Diablo. You control Strife, as he partners up with War to take down Lucifer and the new Masters of Hell. Developed by Airship Syndicate, THQ promises that Genesis will mix combat, exploration, puzzle solving and epic boss battles. We just hope it’s better than Terminator: Genysis.

We also hope it’s better than the last game in the series, Darksiders 3, which didn’t exactly set the world on fire when launched last year. Either way, Darksiders Genesis will be launching on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC and, interestingly, Google Stadia, later this year. Are you excited? Let us know in the comments.
