My Hero Academia Filler Episodes & Arcs You Can Skip

My Hero Academia
My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia is one of the best breakout anime this past decade. Based on the manga of Kohei Horikoshi, it currently has over 120 episodes, with Season 6 still ongoing. Those episodes were adapted by the animation studio Bones, also known for animating other anime, such as Mob Psycho 100 and Fullmetal Alchemist. Still, not every episode is relevant to the main story, so you should know which My Hero Academia filler episodes you can skip.

At first, you might consider skipping the filler if you’re only after the manga canon episodes, and that’s perfectly fine. However, there are instances where you may need to watch some of the My Hero Academia fillers. So if you plan on watching the anime, here is our My Hero Academia filler guide.

My Hero Academia Filler

Here are the My Hero Academia fillers that you can skip. We’ve also included their respective episode numbers to help you filter them out when you watch My Hero Academia.

– Game Start (Episode 39)
– Special Episode: Save the World With Love! (Episode 58)
– The Scoop on U.A. Class 1-A (Episode 64)
– Long Time No See, Selkie (Episode 104)

As you can see, there aren’t that many filler episodes in My Hero Academia compared to other anime. Moreover, Episodes 58 and 104 are tied into the My Hero Academia movies, so they shouldn’t be skipped if you plan on watching the films. On the other hand, you can skip the other two without any repercussions.

Why Should You Skip These My Hero Academia Fillers?

These episodes of My Hero Academia can be skipped because they have no connection to the main storyline. For instance, Episode 39 features the Class 1-A students training and goofing around the school pool. Nothing vital happens throughout the episode, so you can safely skip it since you won’t miss anything important. However, it was a fun side story, so you should watch it if you’ve time.

The same goes for Episode 64, which has mostly anime-original content. This episode focuses on a reporter named Taneo Tokuda, who’s trying to figure out the next successor of All Might. In doing so, he goes around U.A. to interview some students, hoping to get the scoop he wants. The episode’s story also isn’t relevant to the storyline, but it has wholesome moments that make it worth watching.

For the other episodes, you should watch them before you watch the My Hero Academia movies. Episodes such as “Long Time No See, Selkie” are directly connected to the World Heroes’ Mission movie, though it’s also regarded as the show’s worst ever episode. Meanwhile, Special Episode: Save The World With Love also ties in with My Hero Academia: Two Heroes. As long as you’re not going to watch the movies, it’s okay to skip those two episodes.

My Hero Academia has minimal filler compared to other anime, and yet they’re still pretty enjoyable. It’s understandable if you want to skip them, but we recommend you watch them since there are only four filler episodes, and they are mostly good.
