Inscryption: Cabin Chest Puzzle Guide

Being a card game, Inscryption has its fair share of damage and positioning puzzles based on rules the player would be familiar with. The big cabin chest will test the player’s mettle and understanding of these rules. If you’re finding yourself stuck at the chest, we have you covered with these handy puzzle solutions.

Here’s everything you need to know about the cabin’s chest puzzles in Inscryption.

 

How To Unlock The Chest

The chest will need to be unlocked with a key found in the safe (see our safe guide). Once unlocked, players will see two of the four drawers. To unlock the remaining two, you will need to successfully complete the challenges for the top two drawers.

Each drawer will have a unique positioning puzzle where players will need to shift the placement of each playing piece in such a way that they’re able to cause a total of five unmitigated damage. Every puzzle gets progressively more challenging as it introduces sigils and effects players will encounter or will have encountered while playing cards with their captor. Feel free to refer to the rulebook found to the left of the playing area under the wand and hammer to refresh your memory on card effects.

Finding the right position will unlock the drawer, revealing a reward – cards for drawers 1, 2, and 3, while drawer 4 gives the player a squirrel totem head for use in combat encounters.

 

Drawer 1 Solution

This drawer is the most straightforward, as players simply need to line up the pieces on their side of the board.

 

Drawer 2 Solution

Despite the increased complexity of creatures with defensive effects, simply line up the most damaging creatures on your side of the board in columns 1, 3, and 4, while leaving column 2 completely open.

 

Drawer 3 Solution

This one’s all about maximizing the strength of ant cards and bypassing the tail defence effect in columns 1 and 2.

 

Drawer 4 Solution

The trick for this one is to let the bifurcated attack cards deal damage to empty columns.

The rewards from the drawers will definitely help the player in their adventuring, as well as in combat encounters. Some rewards will also be useful in solving other puzzles, like the Caged Wolf from the third drawer. Most importantly, familiarizing yourself with these particular puzzles will prepare you for what’s to come after you escape the cabin.
