Chess Puzzle Little Nightmares 2

Little Nightmares 2 isn’t the most taxing game in terms of puzzles, but it does have on that might stop plenty of players in their tracks: the chess board puzzle in the School chapter.

After escaping from the Teacher, Mono will find himself in a foyer with a locked door on the right hand side of the room — you’ll need a key. Walk up the stairs and hang a right. Take the rook head and place it on top of the broken chess piece to use it as a platform to open the door, but make sure you bring it with you after you have opened it.

You will walk into a room where one of the porcelain children is tied to a chess piece, turning him into a white king. You will need to solve this chess puzzle to grab the key you need. Leave the white rook near the chess board for now.

Continue right until you come across a suspect looking eye drawing and a table. Jump up on the drawing to reveal that it was a projector screen with the solution hidden behind it.

Staying in the same hallway, go further along to the right and then take the white queen from the table you find there, bringing it back to the chessboard. Pick up the rook head and attach it to the piece closest to the table on the left, then use the new platform to snatch the king piece. Bring it back down with you, then attach it to the piece right at the bottom of the board.

Once that’s done, swap the rook piece for the white queen piece you fetched from near the eye drawing, then place the rook on the piece nearest the table on the right. A light will activate, at which point you should jump on top of the rook, up on the table and then the light fixture to open a secret door.

Go fetch the key from the chair with the crude drawing of a dog above it. It seems like someone might have been held in here, perhaps the boy who was tied to the chess piece.

Key in hand, go back to the locked door on the first floor and unlock it. Congratulations, your nightmare in Little Nightmares 2 can continue.

Little Nightmares 2 is available from February 11th on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.
