A new update for one of 2018’s best racing games, Forza Horizon 4, has added a tonne of new features, including some cross-platform fixes, a DLC pack that finally re-introduces Mitsubishi cars to the game, a new Horizon story and business for those looking to earn more credits and an adventure playlist for online players. However, it also completely removes the Carlton and Floss emotes from the game.
No information was given as to why these emotes have been removed from the game, but it’s not hard to theorise why. Both emotes are currently the subject of legal action involving the use of Backpack Kid’s Floss dance and Alfonso Ribeiro’s Carlton dance in Fortnite. Rapper 2 Milly has also filed for legal action over the use of his Milly Rock dance, while Scrubs star Donald Faison has voiced his displeasure over the use of his Poison dance as one of the game’s default emotes.
With the Floss and Carlton emotes appearing in both games, it’s likely that Playground Games and Microsoft decided that it was better to be safe than sorry and removed the emotes from Forza Horizon 4, regardless of whether or not the lawsuit is successful. Unfortunately, it means players will no longer be able to disrespectfully floss in front of famous British landmarks, which is a shame. I guess.
