People cope with loss differently, a fact that Dead To Me explores thoroughly. For Jen Harding and Judy Hale, strangers who lost their husbands, it was by attending a support group. They meet and become friends, sounds normal, right? Well, it turns out that Judy’s husband was still alive. Also, one of the reasons they split up was because they accidentally killed Jen’s husband.
All of this leads to a series of even more murders, lies, and deceit. It eventually reaches its peak with Judy’s death in Season 3. Does this mark the end of the show, or will we see Dead To Me Season 4?
Despite the grim description above, Dead To Me is actually a comedy-drama. It injects well-placed comedy into the dark elements of the show, somehow making it more light-hearted than the plot implies. Is it enough to launch the show into another season? Here’s what you should know about Dead To Me: Season 4.
When Is Dead To Me: Season 4 Being Released?
Sadly, Dead To Me: Season 4 isn’t coming. Not because it got canceled, it’s simply how the producers wanted the show to end.
When Season 3 was announced, Netflix simultaneously confirmed it would be the final season. Additionally, Liz Feldman, the series creator, mentioned that Dead To Me was always supposed to be a short-lived show.
Will The Cast Return For Dead To Me: Season 4?
The cast will not be returning for Dead To Me: Season 4 because there is no Season 4. However, as one series ends, many more take its place. And among those new shows, you might see some familiar names and faces. Here’s what some of the cast members of Dead To Me have in store for fans of their work.
Christina Applegate (Jen Harding) is set to act in a TV movie called Your Time Is Up, which is still in pre-production.
Linda Cardellini (Judy Hale), despite her character’s death in Dead To Me, is doing well. She has an upcoming role in a comedy called Nonnas.
James Marsden (Ben Wood) has multiple roles incoming, so you’ll be seeing him a lot. A few of his future roles will be in Unfrosted, PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
Even Liz Feldman already has projects lined up. She signed a multi-year development deal with Netflix in 2020. So, she’ll be producing more shows for them. Her next project, like Dead To Me, is also a dark comedy. It’s titled No Good Deed.
What Could Dead To Me: Season 4 Be About?
The Season 3 finale was very conclusive. So much so that a Dead To Me: Season 4 wouldn’t make a lot of sense. Judy died on her own terms by sailing away into the horizon in Mexico. Making a new season with only Jen won’t feel right and would just feel like it’s overstaying its welcome.
You could say that the show ended on a “cliffhanger” since the final scene is Jen about to tell Ben that she killed his brother. However, it’s more than likely just a tying up of loose ends. Something to let viewers know that Jen is finally coming clean and is done with hiding her sins.
Whether or not Ben responds well to it, well, that’s up to you to decide.
