The Witcher 3 is One Year Old Today

The Witcher 3 king

One of the best, if not the best, games of this generation turns a year old today. No doubt there are some people out there still playing The Witcher 3 and have been since launch, especially with the upcoming DLC Blood & Wine to practice for.

Its success is almost as impressive as the huge world you take Geralt through on his many expansive, fantastically designed quests. Despite boasting one of the best game trailers ever, nobody could have guessed quite how much the third installment of a series previously only available on PC would succeed on console, but it did, selling millions of copies across the world.

The critical acclaim The Witcher 3 has received is almost unparalleled with it claiming more Game of the Year awards (including one from ourselves) than any other game in history. Not bad for a small Polish developer going up against the likes of Fallout 4 and Metal Gear Solid V.

I can guarantee that ten years from now, when we’re all stuck in our VR cocoons, The Witcher 3 will stand tall as one of the greatest games ever made. Still really pissed that I received the worst ending, though.
