Playing an RPG is about more than just grinding for EXP and loot. It’s about becoming the character you’re playing as, and one of the best ways to do that is by deciding the clothes they were. Giving your created character their own visual identity can be incredible, but it’s hard to do that sometimes with all the pesky armour and spacesuits getting in the way. If you want to ensure your drip endures across all 1000 planets available in Starfield, here’s how you can hide your helmet and spacesuit.

Starfield: How To Hide Your Helmet & Spacesuit

Exploring alien planets with sometimes inhospitable terrain requires you to suit up in order to survive, which means that you can’t always hide your spacesuit and helmet. In places with no atmosphere or no breathable air, you will be forced to wear a helmet, while you’ll wear your spacesuit at all times when outside of the game’s various settlements. Still, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the fresh air at times.

If you want to hide these pieces of equipment, pause the game and head on over to your inventory. Select the piece of equipment you’d like to hide, whether it’s your helmet or spacesuit, and you should see a new option appear at the bottom of your screen. Press RB and you’ll be able to toggle whether or not you want to hide your helmet or spacesuit.

The option itself can be a bit unclear as to which option you’ve selected. Basically, whichever option appears on the bottom of the screen, the opposite is toggled. For example, if it says “show spacesuit in settlements”, you’ve currently got it set to hide your spacesuit in settlements. Once you’ve got your settings how you like them, you’re good to go.
