A few weeks ago, Red Barrels announced that their popular horror game Outlast, and its subsequent Whistleblower DLC, had arrived on the Nintendo Switch, and that the sequel Outlast 2 wouldn’t be far behind. That day is today, so prepare to see some scared Switch players out in the wild over the coming days. The below trailer should give you an indication of what to expect.

But that’s not all. If you find Outlast 2 just a little bit too terrifying, or you’d like to explore the world without the fear of sudden and violent bowel voiding, then maybe you should try the new Story Mode. The mode, which is coming to all platforms, will feature fewer challenges and fewer enemy encounters, allowing you to focus more on exploration and not worry about what’s around the corner. Still, Red Barrels said “fewer enemy encounters”, so take a spare pair of underwear just in case.

Will you be subjecting yourself to jump scares on your commute by picking up Outlast 2 on the Nintendo Switch? What do you think about the new Story Mode?
