Like clockwork, it would appear that NetherRealm Studios’ next game is Injustice 3, as the tie-in comic book writer Tom Taylor has recently been teasing on Twitter a return to the series. Check out the tweet below.

While Tom Taylor could simply be teasing a return to the Injustice world outside of the video games, the comic book tie-in series in the past has served as prequels to the main story shown in both games. In both instances, the comics were released digitally before the game came out, and then received a physical release once the game had launched.

NetherRealm’s release scheduled has been pretty predictable so far, starting with the Mortal Kombat reboot (or MK9 if you prefer) in 2011, before dropping Injustice in 2013. It’s been alternating every two years since, and with MK 11 launching last year, we should see the release of Injustice 3 around Q2 of next year. With the DC FanDome event taking place next month, it’s likely we’ll see some kind of CG announcement trailer at the event.

Personally, the graphics for Injustice 2 already looked phenomenal, so I’m incredibly interested to see what Injustice 3 could look like on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Are you excited about the potential of Injustice 3? Sound off in the comments.
