Fortnite Season 5 Guide: Week 5 Battle Pass Challenges Walkthrough

Fortnite

Week five of Season 5 is here and the transitional changes are holding steady, including the weekly reset time and day. Three of the seven weekly challenges are still free, while the other four still require the Battle Pass to complete. If you want to complete all seven challenges for the week, you need to purchase the Battle Pass for 950 V-Bucks. If you’d prefer to wait, you can buy the Battle Pass anytime throughout the season and be granted access to all challenges from week’s previous. Currently, we’re half way through the season, so you still have time if you’re still on the fence about purchasing the Battle Pass.

Below is a list of the seven challenges for week five and how to complete them.

Search chests in Junk Junction (7 Chests)
This week’s chest search challenge takes place in Junk Junction. Junk Junction is one of the better areas for this challenge type, being a low trafficked area with a respectable amount of chests condensed into a small area. However, the first few days will be somewhat hectic due to everyone attempting to complete is ASAP. If you’re not in a rush, I suggest waiting a few days when the frenzy dies down and you’ll have it finished in a game or three.

Use Rift Portals (3 times)
The wildcard challenge for the week. Simply use three Rift Portals. All three Rifts don’t need to be used in the same game, so this type of challenge will naturally complete itself quite quickly. Just be sure to make use of them as you come across them. For the curious we have an article detailing a large portion of the Rift locations, located here.

Eliminate opponents in one match (3 eliminations)
The weekly three kills with X weapon type has been replaced with the even easier ‘get three kills’. No special tricks to this, just return three people to the game lobby within the same game. Try to double this challenge up with the three kills in Shifty Shafts challenge to hit two birds with one stone.

Fortnite Steady Storm

Deal damage to opponents with a Clinger, Stink Bomb or Grenade (300 damage)
The weekly deal damage with X weapon challenge. The weapon type this week is any type of thrown explosive. Probably one of the easiest weapon types to complete, as finding numerous thrown explosive is almost guaranteed every game. Just collect them as you go and chuck them at the first person you see. If you’re looking to make it a little easier, queue into squads or duos and thrown some at downed enemies as the damage to downed players counts.

Score  from different tees (5 holes)
The replacement for the typical scavenger hunt challenge for the week. This one functions similarly to the basketball hoops challenge from week three. The focus is shifted from finding the five basketball courts (as all the tees are in the same general area) to being able to play pickaxe golf. Make no mistake, the difficulty in this challenge is trying to land the shot on different holes, without getting shot in the noggin’. If you’re looking for guide to help land that putt, you can check out our guide.

Follow the treasure map in Snobby Shores
The classic treasure hunt challenge that so faithfully returns every week. Snobby Shores houses the treasure map for this week. If searching around doesn’t appeal to you, or want your tiers ASAP, we have you covered with a guide right here.

Eliminate opponents in Shifty Shafts (3 eliminations)
Staying true to form, this week also sports a ‘get three kills in Y location’ challenge. This week’s location is Shifty Shafts. A mediocre place for this type of challenge, as its proximity to Tilted Towers tends to divert traffic away from it. Getting in earlier rather than later with this one is your best bet, as you can knock out the three eliminations challenge at the same time.
