Fortnite Season 5 Guide: Search Where The Stone Heads Are Looking

Fortnite

The ever present treasure hunt challenge returns to Fortnite. Following on from week five, week six’s treasure hunt is of the ‘landmark’ variety, challenging you to find the treasure nestled between three specifics landmarks. This week however, there is a small twist on the three landmark variant. Instead of triangulating the position based on three unique, distinct landmarks, you’re asked to find the intersecting point of the landmark’s sightlines. The sightlines in question are based on the direction the Stone Heads are facing. A particularly astute observer would’ve noticed before this week’s challenge that all the Stone Heads are indeed facing in such a way that they intersect at a common point.

Like every ‘find the treasure’ based challenge (that isn’t a ‘Road Trip’ one), you can skip straight to the location of the treasure if you already know where it is, bypassing quite a large bit of the challenge.

I present a picture with each Stone Head circled in blue, a blue line emanating in the direction they’re facing and the treasure circled in red.

As you can see, all the Stone Heads have a common intersecting point which leads to a small hill located just southwest of Salty Springs. This hill is located on the westernmost side of F7 on the main map’s grid.

If you’re having a rough time interpreting my horrendous MS paint skills, there is another simple way to locate the treasure without having to mess about with multiple Stone Heads.

This particular Stone Head is located near the large orange bridge, southeast of Shifty Shafts and southwest of Salty Springs. Located on the southern edge of E7 on the main map’s grid. You can identify this specific head by the black station wagon perched precariously atop its head.

This Stone Head is important because of how close it is to the treasure’s location. If you approach this Stone Head directly, line yourself up with its nose, turn around 180 degrees and just run in a straight line, building over terrain as you go, you will eventually walk straight into the treasure. Due to how close the treasure is to this Stone Head, it’s easy to keep on a straight path without getting turned around. I recommend just using this method if you don’t like dealing with the pictures.

This challenge and the ‘time trial’ challenge constitute the two more involved Battle Pass challenges for week six of season 5. If you’re looking for an overview of the week six Battle Pass challenges and brief tips on how to approach them, check out our overview here.
