Following a week of waiting, Predator is now officially a part of Fortnite. The iconic 80s character may not be the most obvious choice for the secret skin for the season, but at least it’s something different. To unlock him as a skin, you must first defeat Predator as part of the Jungle Hunter quests in Season 5.
This is similar to last season’s challenge, in which you had to track down Wolverine and then eliminate him to unlock him as the secret skin. Luckily for you, Predator is far less of a nuisance than Wolverine, so much so that he’s a bit of a walkover.
Here’s everything you need to know to defeat Predator in Fortnite: Season 5.
Fortnite Predator Location
Predator is situated within the Stealthy Stronghold POI, which is in the northeast of the map and resembles something out of Jurassic Park. As we now know from the Mysterious Pod and other easter eggs, it’s where Predator first arrived on the Fortnite island.
As for Predator’s exact location, he doesn’t stay in one place and instead roams around the whole POI, just like Wolverine. To find him, listen out for his audio cues and watch out for surprise attacks as he is cloaked and cannot be seen normally.
We first found Predator on the western side of Stealthy Stronghold, but we recommend that you start around the edges of the POI to try and track him down.
How To Defeat Predator
Predator boasts 300 HP in total, invisibility, and melee claws that can really hurt you.
Predator does not come equipped with his terrifying shoulder cannon in Fortnite, which means that he is very easy to shoot at from afar. Try to keep your distance from him, first and foremost, by shooting at him with an Assault Rifle. His cloak will disappear once he attacks you or you hit him. He can do a lot of damage to you in no time with just three swipes, so be careful.
Once he’s taken a decent amount of damage, Predator will then attempt to flee and eventually turn his cloak back on, which will make him invisible again. You can follow his audio cues, which sound a little like a heartbeat, to track him down again. He doesn’t go very far away, but he is exceptionally fast when running.
The easiest way to defeat Predator is to hit him close up with a shotgun and then swap to an SMG to defeat him. It might take you a couple of minutes as he can really quickly evade you, but once you’ve eliminated him you will get Predator’s Cloaking Device, other items, and also the skin unlocked, as long as you have purchased Season 5’s Battle Pass.
Unfortunately, due to how many people will be trying to complete this challenge, the most difficult thing will likely be just being the first to eliminate him in a match. We recommend that you jump into Squads with friends to potentially make things easier, though you are probably dependent on luck more than anything.
