Fortnite: Chapter 3 has started at breakneck pace, with both of its first seasons adding (and taking away, in the case of building) so much to the Fortnite experience. You’re probably excited for the start of the next few months of content during the summer, but when does Fortnite: Chapter 3 – Season kick off?
Fortnite: Chapter 3 – Season 3 is due to start on Sunday, June 5th, 2022 following significant downtime, with the game currently in some kind of mushroom waiting lobby as we speak. The day before, June 4th, saw the Collision event take place with players taking on IO and their Collider for control of the island. Once the event concluded, the game went into downtime and will stay that away until the next day, meaning that Fortnite won’t come for quite a few hours.
The length of the downtime is unknown, but it will likely be less than twelve hours. With the event concluding shortly after 9PM BST on June 4th, it’s fair to expect that it will be back online by the morning for that timezone, early hours of the morning in America, likely around 4AM EST. Fortnite will be unplayable while the servers are offline and the new version of the game is patched; you will also need to download that patch.
It’s unclear yet what Season 3 will look like, but we’re expecting the leaked Battle Pass to come to fruition, which will include the likes of Darth Vader and Indiana Jones. Apart from that, there will be significant fallout from the event, possibly with the map looking very different as a result of the battle’s carnage. Who knows, Season 3 may also mark the return of the Pump Shotgun.
Before Season 3 begins, be sure to spend all of your Gold Bars as they will be reset anyway, and also make sure that you’ve made all progress that you need on your Season 2 Battle Pass, as you won’t be able earn any new levels for it once Season 3 starts.
