Not able to keep up with your endless Poke War? You aren’t alone. On Tuesday, March 5th, 2024, Meta’s social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram, encountered significant disruptions, as reported by a large number of users facing issues with both services.

There were instances where users were forcibly logged out of Facebook (including us), and attempts to log back in resulted in an error message stating, “Something went wrong. Please try again.” even after attempting to reset passwords. Don’t worry, you’re not being hacked. Downdetector, a service that monitors online outages, observed a surge in error reports shortly after 10:30 a.m. ET/3PM GMT on Tuesday.

On top of that, Instagram users experienced difficulties with their feeds not updating. The technical glitch also impacted Meta’s Messaging service and Threads, its Twitter competitor that was introduced last year. Do you use Threads still?

There is currently no update on when Facebook will return and there hasn’t been a public announcement, but Facebook is not down for longer than an hour very often. Simply watch this space and stop hammering to reset your password in a panic.
