After wrapping up in 2014, the Bleach anime went on a hiatus that seemed to last an eternity, but then all of a sudden, Studio Pierrot voiced that the sequel is heading our way. 2022 arrived and Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War actually hit screens internationally without any delays. The anime kept receiving unparalleled acclaim for the duration of its run, and that’s why when the last episode aired in late December 2022, fans were gut-wrenched at what would happen next.

But who would’ve thought the studio was just as eager as we were to put out the sequel? Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War: Part 2 has already been reported to be in development and besides that, we also have a release window to get excited about. Here’s everything that we know about Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War: Part 2, including when we think it will come out and what it will all be about.

When Is Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War: Part 2 Coming Out?

UPDATE: Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War: Part 2 will start airing from 8th July 2023. The new season’s opening is going to be performed by w.o.d. and is called “STARS”.

ORIGINAL STORY: It has been officially confirmed that Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War: Part 2 will be released in July 2023. This announcement was paired with a trailer reveal as well that happened right after the last episode of the first part finished airing.

For now, we only have a release window but the exact date should be cleared up in the coming months. July will commence the Summer 2023 anime line-up which already includes other hyped entries such as Jujutsu Kaisen: Season 2, so it surely is going to be an unforgettable time if you’re an anime fan.

What Is Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War: Part 2 About? (Spoiler Alert)

The second part is titled “Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War: Part 2: The Separation” and it’ll adapt the manga starting from Chapter 542. Part 1 left things on a high note with Ichigo upgrading his powers and weapons once again. The series’ main antagonist, Yhwach, was also finally introduced, and he definitely stirred things up quite a bit.

Following the spectacular closing moments of part 1, everything is building up towards an imminent clash between the Sternritters and the Soul Society. Ichigo’s got a new Zanpakuto as well, and what better way could there be than to use it against Yhwach’s forces?

Which Studio Is Making Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War: Part 2?

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War: Part 2 is being animated by Studio Pierrot. The anime has been around for nearly 3 decades, and throughout all this time, no other studio except Pierrot has ever laid hands on the mainline episodes and movies.

It’s awesome that the studio has always been devoted to the franchise, and that it isn’t planning on stopping. The Blood War arc was nominated by many for best visuals of the year in an anime, well, nobody would expect any less from the studio behind Naruto, Black Clover, and Tokyo Ghoul, therefore I doubt anyone would also mind seeing the stellar animation again.

Where Will Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War: Part 2 Be Aired?

Like before, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War: Part 2 will stream on Hulu, Crunchyroll, Disney+, and Netflix upon release. About every major anime service will air the second part, so you won’t have a tough time searching for it online.

Bleach has become a very popular series with massive viewership, so it isn’t shocking that the Blood War is returning soon with part 2. While you wait to witness the Soul Reapers in action again, take a look at some other fascinating and similar works by Studio Pierrot.
