Bleach Filler: Episodes & Arcs You Can Skip

Bleach
Bleach

Along with One Piece and Naruto Shippuden, Bleach was one of the big three anime during the mid-2000s. Created by Tite Kubo, the story features Ichigo Kurosaki and other Soul Reapers on a mission to purify Hollows. Given the manga’s popularity, it was eventually adapted into an anime by Studio Pierrot, reaching over 360 episodes. If you want to start watching Bleach, you should know which of its episodes are skippable fillers.

Out of all the episodes in Bleach, half of them are filler. Considering Bleach’s length, that’s quite a lot of filler content, especially for new people to the anime. Since they don’t actually contribute to the main story, some people just decide to skip the fillers entirely. However, you might want to think this decision through for a moment.

Fans think that some filler arcs are worth watching since they’re still entertaining in some way. Fillers like the Zanpakuto Rebellion arc are praised for having the best fights, stories, and animation. Still, some filler episodes are simply not worth your time, so it’s better to skip them instead.

Bleach Filler

Here are the skippable Bleach fillers that aren’t worth watching. We also included their episode numbers to help you out when you watch the anime.

– Miracle! The Mysterious New Hero (Episode 33)

– The Reviving Lion (Episode 50)

– Bount arcs (Episodes 64-108)

– Arrancar fillers (Episodes 128-137)

– Hueco Mundo fillers (Episodes 147-149, 204-205)

– Fake Karakura Town fillers (Episodes 213-214, 228-229, 287, 298-299, 303-305, 311-316)

– The Shinigami Enter Battle! Seireitei Also Has a New Year Special! (Episode 355)

Those are all the Bleach fillers you can skip without missing anything special. Instead of watching them, it’s better to jump right into the next canon episode to catch up faster. Still, Bleach has a couple of enjoyable filler episodes you can watch, such as the Invading Army arc, the New Captain arc, and the previously mentioned Zanpakuto Rebellion arc.

Why Should You Skip The Bleach Filler?

Most fans agree that the placements of most fillers interrupt the story’s flow, taking you out of the moment. This is mainly because the anime needed time for the manga to create more content to animate. With that, fans recommend watching the canon episodes only and just watch the filler episodes if you want more Bleach content.

Furthermore, some filler arcs included in the list are plain uninteresting. They span several episodes with below-average plots that’ll most likely bore you when you watch them. For instance, many fans agree that the Bount arc is a long and tedious storyline not worth watching. Since it happens after the famous Soul Society arc, a 40-episode fruitless filler arc feels out of place.

Still, we recommend watching as much Bleach content as you can. However, you might want to complete the main story before you watch the fillers to prevent disrupting the flow. With the return of Ichigo in Thousand Year Blood War, now’s as good a time as any to get into the world of Bleach.
