WWE have expressed an interest in bringing back a now-popular AEW tag-team that were originally released back in 2020, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood, better known as FTR.

The current AAA and ROH Tag Team Champions have been on an absolute tear since the start of the year, having back-to-back instant classics with The Briscoe Brothers and The Young Bucks during WrestleMania week. FTR have lit the world of tag wrestling on fire, any fan of two-on-two action have been raving over just how amazing this team has become, and what a loss it has been to WWE.

It seems that the big-wigs behind WWE have realised the same as they have reached out to the former NXT and SmackDown Tag champions and offered them a chance to return to the company when their AEW contracts are up. But does this necessarily mean that FTR will be returning to the company that brought them together as a team?

The short answer is no, or at least not yet. FTR have signed a one-year extension on their contracts with AEW, ensuring that once their official contracts run out in the Summer, then they will at least be sticking around on the All Elite roster for another 12 months. What happens beyond that extra year is currently unknown, though if their popularity continues to grow across the global independent scene, it’s likely that they’ll choose to stick around or demand more money from WWE.

FTR are quickly becoming the most talked about team across the industry, and with this added intrigue from WWE, this could only benefit them more as they continue to live out the prime of their careers in AEW.
