WWE 2K22 Roster: All Confirmed Wrestlers

Following a hiatus in 2020 due to the terrible reception to WWE 2K20, March 2022 will see the series return with WWE 2K22 in a big way. While we don’t know too many details at this time of writing, you can rest assured that the WWE 2K22 will be pretty stacked.

With RAW, SmackDown, 205 Live, NXT and NXT UK to consider, there’s bound to be plenty of wrestlers in WWE 2K22, with many more sure to be released as DLC down the line. While WWE 2K20 had a truly gigantic, comprehensive roster that’s among the biggest ever, here’s hoping the WWE 2K22 roster has the gameplay to match.

Edge was the first wrestler announced outside of the initial reveal trailer ahead of SummerSlam.

Then, during SummerSlam 2021, 2K and WWE showed off a whole bunch more wrestlers for the roster, as well as a closer look at the gameplay. It certainly looks like a step up on the last version, even if it still too early to tell.

The next update would come in November 2021 with a quick glance at some of the new modes and features, including the return of GM Mode.

We will update the above as more get announced. It will definitely be interesting to see if Kevin Owens is still in the company come next March.

 

WWE 2K22 Cover Star

Rey Mysterio seems to be the mascot for the new game, being the first wrestler revealed with the teaser trailer focusing mostly on him. It’s not been confirmed, but it’s a safe bet that he will be the WWE 2K22 cover star.

 

WWE 2K22 Total Roster Count

For reference, WWE 2K20 had 238 playable wrestlers (though some of them are different styles) in total, not counting the post-launch DLC. WWE 2K22 will have a job on its hands to match that, and honestly it’s unlikely considering that the developers will be focusing more on gameplay and innovating the formula following the disaster that was 2K20, but you never know.

Even if the main roster isn’t all that beefed up, it’s almost certain that it will have tonnes of DLC to flesh things out more. And, if fewer wrestlers means that the action in the ring is better than it has been in a long time, we’re all for it.

It will be interesting to see how WWE 2K22’s roster shapes up compared to AEW’s, though based on the fact that the latter has much less talent, 2K22’s is going to have to really drop the ball to not stack up better.

WWE 2K22 is due to release in March 2022.
