Trigun Stampede

Though most of you may not have heard of it, Trigun is an anime that aired in the late 90s and undoubtedly it proved to be one that helped lay down the foundation for the amazing series you see before yourself today. The manga and anime series was created by Yasuhiro Nightow, who’s known particularly for his manga series Kekkai Sensen, and if you’ve ever heard of that, then you should already be familiar with how amazing of a job he does.

During its anime expo held in 2022, Crunchyroll announced that legendary mangaka Yasuhiro Nightow’s decorated anime series will be given a reboot titled Trigun Stampede: Season 1. It’s a rather shocking piece of news to hear, especially after decades of dormancy from the franchise. Nonetheless, Trigun was a masterpiece back then, and with the added spins of creativity in the reboot, things keep looking better, so here’s everything about it that you should be looking forward to.

When Is Trigun Stampede: Season 1 Coming Out?

UPDATE: Crunchyroll has officially confirmed that Trigun Stampede: Season 1 will be streaming across the globe from January 7, 2023.

ORIGINAL STORY: While the exact air date still hasn’t been confirmed, Crunchyroll has given a January 2023 release window for Trigun Stampede: Season 1. This is pretty quick considering the anime was announced in mid-2022, so hopefully this fast turnaround doesn’t end up damaging the goods.

As for the episodes, we’re speculating a 12-13 count, specifically because that’ll help test the waters a bit as most non-isekai or anime unable to create hype like Chainsaw Man do tend to end up on the short end of the spectrum.

What Is Trigun Stampede: Season 1 About? (Spoiler Alert)

Trigun Stampede: Season 1 should follow the manga’s original plot, although it still hasn’t been confirmed whether the reboot will add something new to the story aspect so we can’t be certain. For now, though, let’s go with the same old classic story of Vash the Stampede, a man rumored to annihilate cities and cause mass chaos, actually turns out to be a big softie who’s out to spread peace.

With a giant 60 billion double-dollar prize on his head, bounty hunters flock to capture this infamous villain. Though unbeknownst to them, Vash may want to promote peace, he’s not afraid to settle things by teaching everyone a lesson in the process.

Which Studio Is Making Trigun Stampede: Season 1?

Trigun Stampede: Season 1 is supposedly a collaboration project between two studios— similar to Spy x Family. Both Studio Orange and TOHO Animation will be directing the anime, and with their track record, oh boy is hype for the anime building up.

But there’s one tiny detail you should be aware of. Trigun Stampede: Season 1 will be a CGI-based anime, and that’s worrying considering how lackluster that ends up being in the end. Hopefully, both studios end up proving us wrong on every front.

Where Will Trigun Stampede: Season 1 Be Aired?

Unlike the original anime that aired in 1998, Trigun Stampede: Season 1 is licensed by Crunchyroll instead of Funimation. On the other hand, if you’re in the mood of watching it live, then TV Tokyo is going to broadcast the anime when it releases in January 2023.

As the release date draws near, newcomers into the animeverse will be able to relish in Yasuhiro Nightow’s classic sci-fi shooter saga soon enough, finally getting to witness a never before seen take on Vash’s pacifying, albeit gunslinger lifestyle.
