Titanfall 2 Teaser Brings the Swords

Two years ago on the 11th of March a game came out for Xbox One that promised lively mech-on-mech action, wall running and AI controlled robots to fill the map and give you something else to destroy. That game was Titanfall and now it’s back, promising a full single player campaign and release on all platforms.

To get the anticipation for the sequel going, Respawn Entertainment provided fans with a short teaser featuring a weird avatar-esque dog creature, drop pods and mechs with swords! All set to the ominous voice of a South African talking about “the problem of being a hero”.

So why should we all be excited for this next instalment in what is sure to be a long-standing series? Well, as I said, this game will feature a single player mode, a feature that was sorely lacking in the first game and, much to the dismay of gamers, has now been dropped in a lot of recent big games, Star Wars Battlefront, Rainbow Six Siege and Evolve.

Also, by releasing it on all platforms, more people are exposed to this crazily addictive cycle of shooting anyone and everyone until you call down your Titan and wreak havoc. The sole reason I waited to buy an Xbox One was so that it was with this game. If Microsoft are really that open to cross-platform play, this would be a good game to start afresh with and make amends with Sony.

Finally, if you’re starting to become burnt out by Call of Duty, and by the sounds of it 2016’s edition will be far in the future (hoping it doesn’t take anything away from the Titanfall experience) then this is the perfect cure; it’s not too serious, it had the wall running mechanic before Black Ops 3 (it does it better in my opinion) and it looked phenomenal in the first instalment.

Therefore if you, like me, want to know more about this game, then you’ll have to wait until June 12th, the day of EA’s press conference at E3 to find out more.
