Ryo Saeba & Kenshiro Confirmed For Jump Force

Jump Force

Bandai Namco’s upcoming “let’s get all the anime/manga characters together and have a big rumble” game Jump Force has just revealed two new characters in celebration of Paris Games Week, and they’re some big ones: Ryo Saeba from City Hunter and Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star. Take a guess as to which one I’m more excited about.

If you’re drawing a blank as to who Ryo Saeba is (like we were), City Hunter is an 80’s manga that follows his journey as a Tokyo detective trying to rid the streets of crime with an impressive arsenal of weapons and a Mini Cooper, both of which feature in the game. The series was even adapted into a live-action Hong Kong film starring the one and only Jackie Chan. A new animated City Hunter film is set to release on February 8th 2019, a week before Jump Force comes out, so this is the perfect way to drum up interest in both properties.

Meanwhile, there’s no real need to introduce Kenshiro, protagonist of the Fist of the North Star series and perhaps one of the most powerful anime and manga characters to exist. He punches people and they explode, and I don’t think we’ve talked about that enough on this website. Needless to say, it’s doubtful that Ken will be making Goku’s head explode when Jump Force launches on February 15th for PS4, Xbox One and PC, but we’re excited nonetheless.
