Alright, I’m pretty sure you all know about the ongoing series of “leaks” (see: maliciously stolen data from a group of dicks) going on at Capcom, which has led to Capcom’s release schedule for the next few years being posted online, employee details doxxed and so much besides. We’ve not covered it, because we’d rather not give it the attention, but it would appear that the hacker group behind it have now taken to spoiling Resident Evil 8.
They’re Spoiling Resident Evil 8 Now?
It would appear so. There’s a 19GB dump flying around that includes a host of fully rendered Resident Evil 8 cutscenes, which will spoil plenty of story details for the game, which is set to launch next year. We won’t be linking to any of the footage, or to other news posts which mention the file names and so on, but they’re out there.
This situation is incredibly similar to the fate that befell The Last of Us Part II before launch, where a large majority of the game’s plot were distributed online ahead of the game’s launch. Just keep your head down out there if you’re really excited for the next Resident Evil game.
