Project Zomboid Steam Deck: How To Zoom In and Out

While Project Zomboid on Steam Deck is a little bit of a technical marvel, it certainly has a few drawbacks, namely in its controls. One such quirk is the ability to zoom in and out.

By default, players can hold down the View button and then scroll through the wheel that appears to either zoom in or out. However, this isn’t the ideal way of zooming in and out on the Steam Deck as it’s a bit slow and can leave you vulnerable.

Instead, the best thing to do is to remap your controller configuration or download a community configuration to make use of the Steam’s back grip buttons.

For Project Zomboid, you want to remap or configure scroll wheel up to either of the left back grips, and then scroll wheel down to the right back grips. This way, you can easily zoom in and out on your Steam Deck without having to go into a specific menu.

Project Zomboid is available on PC.
