Project Zomboid: Does It Have Cloud Saves?

Project Zomboid

Project Zomboid is a very intense game that demands the player to spend an absolute tonne of time with it to learn its ins and outs. If you’ve been playing away on your desktop, you may want to take your suffering to a laptop or even your Steam Deck with Project Zomboid cloud saves, but can you?

The answer is unfortunately no, Project Zomboid does not support cloud saves. This likely down to just how large save files are in the game, as there are many, many moving parts when you start exploring Knox County, more so than most games out there.

However, you can transfer your saves fairly easy to another desktop or laptop if you have a USB stick. Simply go to C:\Users\yourusername\Zomboid\Saves and then transfer them to a USB stick, then transfer them over and add them to your equivalent folder on another device and you should be able to carry on your Zomboid save on another device.

While there is no Project Zomboid cloud save support right now, it doesn’t necessarily mean that there never will be. PZ is in Early Access and The Indie Stone have updated it a lot over the many years that it’s been available, so it’s not impossible.

Project Zomboid is available on PC.
