Pokémon Sword and Shield: How To Change Clothes

Gotta fash 'em all.

Sword and Shield Clothes 1

When you first start out in Pokémon Sword and Shield, your player character looks a little like a dweeb, his massive bag and hat now exactly swaying the Jynxes of the Pokémon world. However, you can change clothes in the game to give him that killer Zoolander look if you so wish.

To change clothes in Pokémon Sword and Shield, you must venture on over to a Boutique. Boutiques are found in most major towns in the game and will be visible via your map once you enter one.

To buy clothes in Pokémon Sword and Shield, you must have enough Pokédollars. Your mother, who realises she shouldn’t send her son out to fight animals without pocket money, will give you 20,000 Pokédollars to spend early on in the game, which will get you a lot of clothes. You can also earn Pokédollars by selling items and winning battles.

Browse through different kinds of clothes using left and right, and then make your purchase when you’re ready. Once you’ve bought a piece of clothing, the game will ask you if you want to put it on immediately.

To check out and change into any clothes that you already own, simply go into the changing room in a Boutique and bedazzle yourself with a new outfit.

Elsewhere in Pokémon Sword and Shield, be sure to check out how you can nab a free Meowth and also change the names of your Pokémon.

Pokémon Sword and Shield are out now on Nintendo Switch.
