Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: Where To Catch Pikachu

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Pikachu

Many of the beloved first generation Pokémon can be found wandering the Paldea region in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. One of the most adored is the small electric mouse, Pikachu, who has been in every single mainline game to date.

Here’s where to catch Pikachu in Scarlet and Violet.

There are multiple locations where Pikachu can be found, but the first place we found one was just north-east of Cascarrafa in the West Province (Area Three). If you’ve unlocked fast travel to the majority of the Pokécentre locations, the closest one is Medali (West).

Other locations to find a Pikachu include the south-west of the crater and around Artazon. Search close to trees as hinted in Pikachu’s Pokédex entry.

Another method of catching a Pikachu is to find a Pichu and evolve it, but this requires raising its friendship level. Using a Thunder Stone can also help evolve Pikachu into Raichu if you’re looking to complete the ninth generation Pokédex.

Speaking of stones, be sure to read up on where you can find the Shiny Stones (which sadly don’t make your Pokémon shiny) and also how you can get your hands on Water Stones.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are out now on Switch.
