Pearl Abyss have announced that they’ve partnered with Koch Media to help bring their popular MMO Black Desert to stores across Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand, with a physical release on PS4 and Xbox One.
The physical release, called the Prestige Edition, will bundle together the game and a host of content, allowing players to get a headstart on their adventure. This bundle will include a premium armour set (Shudad Glorie Premium Set), an exclusive pet and a tonne of consumables. All together, the bundled items and game reach a value of $139/£105, but the Prestige Edition will only cost 34,99€/$29.99.
If you’ve never played Black Desert before, it’s an open-world MMORPG with some amazing visuals and, get this, actually plays pretty well on consoles. The controls are much better geared for a controller than other MMOs that make their way from PC. The UI is still a bit of a struggle, mind you, but you can’t win them all.
Pearl Abyss’ CBO Kevin Kim said this about the partnership in a press release: “We are proud to announce this partnership today. We were impressed by the local expertise and shared global goals that this cooperation with Koch Media offers us. Koch Media’s high standards of work by their global teams encourages us further that we will open new markets and reach new target audiences with this physical publishing agreement.”
No release date was given for the Black Desert Prestige Edition, though they’ve stated that the physical release will launch later this year. For those who haven’t ventured into Black Desert yet, this might be the perfect jumping on point.
