No 2 or 3 announced yet, though.

The official Devil May Cry V Twitter account revealed last night that the first game in the series, the aptly named Devil May Cry, will be heading to the Nintendo Switch this Summer. Check out the tweet below.

Interestingly, the 2001 hit won’t be joined by Devil May Cry 2 and 3, which were available as part of the recently re-released HD Collection which found its way onto PS4, Xbox One and PC next year. Perhaps this is Capcom testing the waters for how much demand there is for Devil May Cry on a Nintendo console. That, or Capcom are doing what they did with the Switch ports of Resident Evil, forcing gamers to pay a premium for the privilege of playing one of their games while taking a dump.

The HD ports of Devil May Cry ran at 60fps, but those details haven’t been revealed about the Switch port just yet. Either way, it’s one step closer to the theory that Dante will be appearing in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Devil May Cry head Hidaki Itsuno even told fans to campaign for the series to appear on the Switch in some capacity if they wanted that to become a reality.

“Devil May Cry has never been on a Nintendo platform. So it seems like the first thing to do would be to get Capcom to put Devil May Cry on a Nintendo platform in some way, shape or form – whatever game that might be.”

What do you think about Dante making his way to Nintendo, and what that might mean for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate? Do you just wish they’d port Devil May Cry 3 and be done with it? Let us know in the comments.
