New Details Emerge For Rainbow Six: Siege’s Outbreak Event

Outbreak

Ubisoft have just revealed some new details regarding the upcoming co-op event Outbreak, coming to Rainbow Six: Siege later this year. Cast aside any notions you had about your regular operators fighting zombies, as you’ll be taking on an extraterrestrial threat known as the Apex.

Starting on March 6th and lasting for four weeks, you and two other players can head out to Truth and Consequences, New Mexico, to combat the alien parasite that has mutated the residents into monsters. It’s certainly a departure from being spawn-peeked by a Valkyrie on multiplayer.

Stepping into the quarantine zone will be Smoke, Ying, Buck, Kapkan, Ash, Doc, Tachanka, Glaz, and Recruit, which is one hell of a bad first day for the Recruit. Then again, the rookie usually survives. Those 9 operators will also be joined by Lion and Finka, who are the new French and Russian operators that’ll be joining the roster. No word on their abilities just yet, but they’re referred to as biohazard specialists. Perhaps they’ll utilize grenades filled with weaponised small pox. Who knows?

Outbreak will launch with 2 difficulty levels – normal and Pandemic. Though the event is designed to promote teamwork, co-operation and co-ordination, the Pandemic difficulty will include tougher enemies and that all important friendly fire. Try not to blast your teammate in the back of the head when a rampaging parasite bumrushes you.

More details will be revealed about the Outbreak mode during the Six Invitational Finals, which will be held on February 18 & 19th. Are you excited to head to the alien infested hometown of Cactus Jack? Wrestling joke everybody. Sound off with your thoughts in the comments below.
