Fortnite’s newest update, v10.40, has reintroduced an old spot near Pleasant Park in better shape than ever, but has also rather peculiarly added a new weapon that can only be found in that area.
The Starry Suburbs Rift Zone is the seemingly last Zone change for Fortnite Season X, it representing the run-down area that used to be near Pleasant in the game’s early days. After disappearing, it looks like the spot has returned fully finished.
However, it seems like shooting stars will also be dropping at the POI, because reasons.
From the patch notes:
“The neighborhood is actually so nice that shooting stars make it their destination. Crush the stars to access powerful items, including a never-before-seen weapon!”
That weapon in question is the Legendary Tactical SMG, which you can see in the video below that also acts as a tour of Starry Suburbs itself. Technically, this weapon isn’t never-before-seen as it was actually spotted in the launch trailer for Season X.
To find the Legendary Tac SMG, you have to basically get lucky and find it in one of the fallen stars. The stars make a loud audio cue when they land, so it shouldn’t be difficult to spot them.
Judging from how the gun performs purely in Playground, it’s an outrageously overpowered laser that will no doubt be nerfed before too long. There’s no recoil or spread on the thing, and it’s not like the regular Tacs weren’t already a tad OP.
Elsewhere in Fortnite, the Bouncers have made a return and there also seems to be a new map on the horizon.
