It’s been a little while since Fortnite collaborated with Avengers in two LTMs that saw a huge amount of players, but that time has come again. Instead of the movies, though, this time they are collaborating with Marvel’s Avengers from Square Enix to give you free pickaxes modelled after Hulk.
In a offer limited to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players, anyone who plays the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers betas can earn the Hulk Smashers Pickaxe, which comes with the Hulkbuster style.
All you need to do is complete three HARM challenges, which consist of you clearing rooms full of enemies. There are three rooms to beat in total and you will also get a Nameplate that you can use in the full version of the game.
Here are the dates for all of the upcoming betas.
August 7-9: PlayStation 4 Pre-Order BetaMarvel Avengers PlayStation 4 pre-order players only
- August 14-16: PlayStation 4 Open Beta
- August 14-16: Xbox One Pre-Order Beta
- Marvel Avengers Xbox One pre-order players only
- August 21-23: Open Beta on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
You don’t have to pre-order the game to get these cosmetics for free. While there are pre-order betas, anyone can play the open betas, which take place on August 14-16 for PS4 only and then for PS4 and also Xbox One on August 21-23. That means you have six days in which you can play Marvel’s Avengers all for free with a free item in Fortnite on top of it.
To make sure you can redeem your pickaxes, your PlayStation or Xbox account must be linked to Epic Games as well as Square Enix by visiting this link. Once the beta is over and the challenges have been completed, you should notice the Hulk Smashers Pickaxe in your locker shortly after.
If you don’t want to play Marvel’s Avengers, these special pickaxes will be coming to the Item Shop sometime down the line, presumably to coincide with the full release of Marvel’s Avengers on September 4th. Will we also be seeing Thor?
Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 3 is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android. Not iOS anymore, though!
