Week 8 of Season 6 is upon us and Epic has decided to give us two search intensive challenges. This guide focuses exclusively on locating the Dancing Fish Trophies; if you’re looking for our walkthrough on the ‘Clay Pigeon Launchers’, you can find that here.
This challenge strongly resembles the older scavenger hunts from previous seasons (Rubber Duckies, Hungry Gnomes, etc.). The focus is on finding these ‘Dancing Fish Trophies’. These Dancing Fish Trophies take on the form of those ‘singing wall mounted fish trophies’ people hang in their houses.
Granted, they aren’t particularly well concealed like previous scavenger hunt challenges, however, they do lack special sound effects to locate them (unless they’re already being danced with). This means that finding them is still quite difficult as you can be in close proximity to one (i.e. in the same building) but be none-the-wiser because it’s a room over.
These trophies will always be found in a named location and inside a building and there isn’t one in every named location, just the majority of them. Once you’ve located a trophy, you simply need to dance in front of it and it will spring to life and dance with you. This signifies that you’ve received credit and can move on.
The difficulty with this challenge lies with finding the trophies more than anything else and for that, we have a map with all the trophies we’ve found.
Dancing Fish Trophies Map
We found ten trophies in total, which is two more than the required seven. Therefore, you don’t need to visit all the locations on this map, merely the seven most convenient for you.
Dusty Divot Fish Trophy
Inside the northernmost warehouse is a restaurant and gift shop. If you head inside the warehouse from the east side, you’ll find a public bathroom. You’ll find the fish trophy on the wall inside the bathroom. You can find this at F5 on the main map’s grid.
Fatal Fields Fish Trophy
Located on the southside of Fatal Fields is the farm’s main house. The lounge room on the ground floor, houses a trophy. Mounted above the fireplace. You can find it at F8 on the main map’s grid.
Lazy Links Fish Trophy
On the western side of Lazy Links is the gift shop, just south of the main lodge. You’ll find the fish trophy just behind the main counter. F2 on the main map’s grid.
Junk Junction Fish Trophy
The main central building of Junk Junction contains a fish trophy on the ground floor. You’ll find it in B2 on the main map’s grid.
Lonely Lodge Fish Trophy
As you may expect, Lonely Lodge houses a trophy in the most obvious location. Inside the main lodge are two fish trophies either side of a deer head trophy. This can be found on the lodge’s west interior wall. I4 on the main map’s grid.
Retail Row Fish Trophy
Retail Row contains the most egregious of the fish trophies for this challenge. On the eastern side of town are the black-topped shops. The northernmost one of these has a giant fish trophy looming over its front entrance. Dancing with this does indeed count towards the challenge. There is also a more ‘reasonably sized fish’ inside as well. You can find this at H6 on the main map’s grid.
Risky Reels Fish Trophy
On the northern side of the location is the area’s ‘main building’, which contains a notable green screen room. If you enter this building from the southside you’ll be in a small auxiliary room which has the fish trophy mounted on it. H2 on the main map’s grid.
Snobby Shores Fish Trophy
The southernmost house of Snobby Shores contain an underground level, you’ll find the fish trophy mounted above a couch near a bookcase. A5 on the main map’s grid.
Tilted Towers Fish Trophy
In the middle of Tilted Towers is the recently destroyed building (next to the location’s central tower). You’ll find the trophy just laying on the ground floor (not the floor that is below street level) of this building, out in the open. This rests on the intersection of D5 and D6 on the main map’s grid.
Wailing Woods Fish Trophy
Under the hedge maze is a hidden bunker complex, on the highest floor of this complex is a storeroom. You’ll find three fish trophies lined up, near some deer head trophies. I3 on the main map’s grid.
It’s been quite some time since Epic has introduced a fully fledged scavenger hunt style challenge that were utterly rampant during earlier seasons. While it is unlikely we’ll see such a deluge of such challenges again, with multi-stage challenges having won Epic’s affection for the time being, it’s nice to see they haven’t forgotten about this style of challenge all together.
