We’re edging closer to the end of Fortnite’s third season in its second chapter, and, god willing, it may actually finish on time for once. Before the new season, we have a week 9 challenge to complete: Collect Metal At Hydro 16.
It’s 200 metal, to be exact. While this might not sound bad on paper, metal is the slowest material to harvest in Fortnite, as well as the least rate. Considering that there will be many other people landing at Hydro 16 to collect metal for this challenge, it’s not going to be as easy as it sounds.
Here’s everything you need to know to collect metal at Hydro 16 in Fortnite.
Hydro 16 Location
Hydro 16 is a Landmark in Fortnite, meaning that it will not be named on the map. It lies directly east of Slurpy Swamp, just below the dam. You can find it at D7 on the Fortnite grid.
As for where to find all the metal, the main building at Hydro is mostly metal, so you may just want to try and harvest every bit of it you can, including the roof. There are transformers inside that will help, as well as some pylons around the main building.
As mentioned, you need 200 metal for this challenge, which can be harvested over as many matches as needed. Your reward is 35,000 XP, which can be put towards progress on your Battle Pass.
Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 3 is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. Fortnite’s V-Bucks are now cheaper than ever, as well.
