Dauntless Reaches 5 Million Players Milestone

That's a lot of Slayers.

Dauntless

Phoenix Labs’ free-to-play monster hunting game Dauntless fully launched on PS4, Xbox One and PC last week, and it’s been an incredibly successful launch, as Dauntless now has surpassed 5 million players across all platforms. The developers announced the news rather jubilantly on their Twitter account.

Though it’s not surprising to see a free-to-play title pull some impressive numbers with regards to its player base, reaching the 5 million player milestone is still monumental for a game like Dauntless, especially when you consider there isn’t a battle royale mode attached. That said, the servers have been suffering from long queue times to login during peak times. Phoenix Labs are working on server optimisation though, so hopefully Dauntless will improve as time goes on.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a free-to-play game without some kind of battle pass, and Dauntless is no exception with its Hunt Pass; a Hunt Pass with weekly challenges. We’ve also put together a guide that should help any new players looking to join the ranks of the Slayers.
