Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer Announced, Arriving Post-Launch

We won't be seeing it for a while.

Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red have announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will indeed by getting a multiplayer mode of some kind, which should possibly give purpose to those who didn’t see a point in customising your character when they announced yesterday that the entire game will be “100% first-person”. However, the mode will only arrive way after launch.

In the small tweet thread above, the developers announce that the multiplayer mode exists, and that they’re currently hiring in order to properly develop the mode. However, CD Projekt Red will be focusing on delivering the base game and a host of free and paid DLC content drops after the game’s launch. Once they’re out of the way, it’ll be time for multiplayer.

The developers haven’t made it a secret that they’ve been exploring the idea of a multiplayer mode in Cyberpunk 2077, but this is the first confirmation that they will be adding it to the game, it’s just a case of when. There’s no word yet on how this multiplayer mode will be implemented, or whether or not you’ll be able to import your single player character, but then again, CD Projekt Red probably don’t have the answers to those questions yet either. Guess we’ll just have to wait to find out.
