Vikings Valhalla

The Vikings TV series was one of the most interesting accounts of Norse mythology. Stunning cinematography, mesmerizing drama, and riveting battles between the Danes and England’s Christians were three reasons why it became such a hit, and while its spin-off sequel, Vikings: Valhalla, hasn’t yet delivered the same level of euphoria in its first two seasons, it’s gradually getting there.

Netflix confirmed that Vikings: Valhalla: Season 3 was in development soon after Season 2 aired. It was shot back-to-back with the second season, however, the series won’t be returning this year despite the filming wrap-up implying otherwise. A third dose of Viking brutality is on its way, and there’s going to be a lot more bloodshed and pillaging, but exactly how much, you can find out ahead.

When Is Vikings: Valhalla: Season 3 Coming Out?

Vikings: Valhalla: Season 3 will release in 2024 exclusively on Netflix. An exact date for the new season hasn’t yet been announced, but seeing as the first two seasons debuted during Q1 of 2022 and 2023, Season 3 should also land on the service in Q1 of 2024.

So far the series has received rapid renewals. Just as one season ends, another is announced by Netflix, and surprisingly, the stars seem to be aligning in favor of a fourth. It isn’t official right now, but the series’ cast did let it slip that Netflix may be eyeing more seasons after Vikings: Valhalla: Season 3, and odds are there will be, especially since the other only good Norse show, The Last Kingdom, has concluded.

With Vikings: Valhalla: Season 3 taking Leif, Freydís, and Harald to different shores across the continent, the imminent doom of the 11th-century barbarians fast approaches. It’s going to be a blast to watch, but that also makes you wonder how long remains until the series ends.

Who Is In The Cast of Vikings: Valhalla: Season 3?

If there’s one thing that Vikings: Valhalla has stayed true to from the original Vikings show, it’s that every season ends with a bang and dozens of fresh graves. The last season was no different as Olaf, the overarching antagonist of the series was finally put to the sword, so it’s apparent that Jóhannes Haukur won’t be back to play Olaf ever again.

On the bright side, Sam Corlett (Leif Eriksson), Frida Gustavsson (Freydís), and Leo Suter (Harald) will all be rejoining the cast of Vikings: Valhalla: Season 3 to portray the best three remaining warriors in the dwindling Viking age. Among the latest additions to the Netflix show cast include Goran Visnjic who is set to play Erik the Red, the notorious father of Freydís and Leif.

As for the supporting actors, Bradley Freegard and Laura Berlin will reprise their roles as King Canute and Queen Emma respectively. Vikings: Valhalla: Season 3 will also see the return of David Oakes as Earl Godwin, and Joakim Nätterqvist as Birkir.

Except for Olaf and his subordinates, the entire supporting cast will make an appearance, and with Leif and Harald finally reaching Constantinople, many new actors will be taking the stage. A behind-the-scenes teaser is available for the next season, and while it’s merely a few seconds long, it might ease the longing for Vikings: Valhalla: Season 3, if only a little bit.
